The basic knowledge in the practice and theory of visual arts, visual plastic arts, design, audio-visual media arts, art theory is acquired and strengthened.
The compulsory choice of a student to study a particular specialisation in visual arts is implemented:
Visual Arts (Painting, Printmaking, Sculpture, specialisations);
Visual Plastic Arts sub-programme (Textiles, Glass Art, Ceramics);
Design (Product Design, Graphic Design, Interior Design, Fashion Design, Metal Design);
Audio-visual Media Arts sub-programme (Visual Communication, Movement. Image. Sound, Environmental Art, Scenography);
Art Theory (Art History and Theory, Restoration);
The Art Academy of Latvia's Bachelor's programme is implemented in the Latgale branch - in the specialities of painting, graphics, restoration and sculpture.
The students learn the methods of developing an artwork - researching the problem, developing an idea, using materials, developing the work in practice (from idea to finished work), using theoretical knowledge and creating a concept of description.
Visual arts sub-programme:
The basic knowledge of the practice and theory of visual arts is acquired and strengthened.
The student's compulsory choice to study a particular visual arts specialisation - painting, printmaking, sculpture - is implemented.
Experience in the methods of developing a work of art is acquired - researching a problem, developing an idea, using materials, developing a work in practice (from idea to finished work), using theoretical knowledge and creating a descriptive concept.
Visual and plastic arts sub-programme:
Acquire and consolidate basic knowledge in the practice and theory of visual plastic arts.
The student's compulsory choice to study in a particular visual arts specialisation - textiles, ceramics, glass art - is implemented.
Experience of the methods of developing an artwork is acquired - researching the problem, developing the idea, using materials, practical development of the work (from idea to finished work), using theoretical knowledge and developing the concept of description.
Audio-visual media arts sub-programme:
Acquisition and consolidation of basic knowledge in the practice and theory of audiovisual media art.
The student's compulsory choice to study in a specific specialisation of audio-visual media art is implemented (carried out): visual communication, scenography, Movement.Image.Sound., environmental art.
Experience in the methods of developing an artwork is acquired - researching the problem, developing the idea, using the materials, practical development of the work (from idea to finished work), using theoretical knowledge and developing the concept of description.
Design sub-programme:
Acquire and consolidate basic knowledge of design and art practice and theory.
The student's compulsory choice to study in a specific design specialisation - product design, graphic design, interior design, fashion, metal design.
Experience is gained in the methods of design project, object development and elaboration - problem identification and research, idea development, use of materials and technologies, practical work development (full project cycle), theoretical knowledge application and description concept creation.
Art Science sub-programme:
The basic knowledge of art history and theory is acquired and consolidated. Work skills in analysing and processing information are acquired. Knowledge and skills in the study and processing of cultural heritage.
The student's compulsory choice to study a particular specialisation in art history and theory, restoration.
Experience is gained in the methods of researching artistic processes - the development of an idea, the use of materials, the practical development of the work, the use of theoretical knowledge.
