Results
Knowledge:
1. Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of the legal system of the Republic of Latvia, the European Union and the international legal system, as well as an understanding of all sub-fields of legal science, including a critical understanding of this knowledge.
2. Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the process of applying legal norms, including the systematic and rational application of legal methods, the interpretation of legal norms using modern methods of translation and interpretation of legal norms, as well as have a sound understanding of the further development of law.
3. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the identification, analysis and development of factual and legal issues, including in a changing legal environment.
Skills:
4. Independently apply theory, methods and problem-solving skills to perform legal duties and related research activities.
5. Explain and discuss complex, contemporary aspects of law, especially criminal law, in a reasoned dialogue with specialists and laypersons, and keep abreast of developments in legal issues.
6. Independently directs the development of legal competence, takes responsibility for the performance and analysis of staff teams, conducts research or further learning in complex and unpredictable circumstances and, where necessary, modifies them using modern approaches.

7. Independently and working in a team, formulate and critically analyse complex scientific and practical legal problems in national and international contexts, raise theoretical research questions or hypotheses, as well as develop legally sound solutions to practical situations, observing the principles of legal professional ethics and understanding the potential impact of scientific results or professional activities on the environment and society.
8. Analyse scientific literature and other sources on the chosen problem, using theoretical foundations of legal science and traditional and contemporary scientific and legal databases.
9. Integrate knowledge from different fields, contributing to the creation of new knowledge, research or the development of professional practices, thereby contributing to the development of law and the practice of law.
