Results
The knowledge, skills, and competencies acquired by graduates of the academic bachelor's study program Forest Science are interrelated. Therefore, the defined results can be obtained after the successful completion of studies.
Graduates acquire knowledge in dendrology, botany, forest animal biology, mathematics, chemistry, foreign language, basics of forestry, game management, forest regeneration, forest tree breeding, and other general and specialized subjects. In addition, alums know the current technical and technological solutions used in forestry and forestry.
Graduates have skills to apply the acquired knowledge, work independently and creatively, and apply the latest scientific knowledge on topics topical in the field. Understands the importance of sustainable forest management in addressing climate change mitigation and growing and managing vital, productive forest stands. Graduates can analyze and systematize the obtained information, including the application of digital technologies, and orient themselves in the regulatory documents related to the EU and the Republic of Latvia related to the industry. Knows how to communicate aspects of forestry science and practice with employees of the forest sector of different specializations and the general public. Able to independently improve their qualification and implement research or development tasks in forest sector organizations.
Graduates are competent in independently preparing and justifying solutions for forestry practice, synthesizing information from various sources, as well as to carry out a critical analysis of existing solutions used in forestry and forestry research. It is competent to independently put forward the ideas of the organization of the forest sector and the development of the company, as well as to plan, structure, and implement projects. Graduates are competent to continue their studies in the master's degree.
