Results
As a result of completing the study programme, the graduate:
1. Has acquired basic knowledge of the arts; specialized knowledge of dance and other arts and the ability to critically evaluate this knowledge; understanding of the interaction of contemporary dance art and other arts in a local and global context, being aware of the uniqueness of the Latvian national cultural identity;
2. Has acquired professional skills: graduates are able to carry out professional and innovative creative work of choreographer and dancer in a wide variety of fields of contemporary dance art both in Latvia and internationally; are able to engage in research based on the creative process and promote in the field of contemporary dance both in the target groups of specialists and in the widest audience of interested parties;
3. Has acquired general skills: graduates are able to formulate and analytically describe information, problems and solutions in the field of humanities and arts; able to work professionally both individually and in a team, make decisions and find creative solutions.
4. Knows how to acquire, select, evaluate and store all kinds of information in the field of humanities and arts; are able to create business collaboration and creative projects using online tools.
5. Is able to see the potential of creativity in different fields and situations, are able to motivate and encourage different groups of society for an inclusive art experience; work successfully in a team, e.g., in various capacities (choreographer, dancer, movement consultant, etc.) by being included in a dramatic or musical theatre performance and influencing its artistic solutions; able to work with different groups of society.
6. Is able to see and critically evaluate the cultural and political context of the field of performing arts and use the strengths and weaknesses of the professional market, e.g., by attracting funding for their creative projects in various Latvian and international competitions; are motivated to show initiative by forming non-governmental creative associations or individual, institutionally unattached creative works.
7. Is able to evaluate the impact of their professional and creative activities on the environment and society; are actively involved in the social and creative activities of the Latvian non-governmental cultural sector.
8. Understands and are able to use the international perspective of contemporary dance; are actively involved in international cooperation projects, developing intercultural communication in the privileged form of expression of contemporary dance - without linguistic restrictions.
9. Is able to realize and evaluate their artistic activity and conceptualize it in an appropriate research discourse; understand the professional ethics of dance; know how to communicate various aspects of contemporary dance in public discussions, topical criticism and theoretical research, thus promoting the understanding and popularity of contemporary dance in society.
