Results
Upon completion of the study programme, students will acquire and be able to demonstrate:
KNOWLEDGE
-of the structure of the state and the organisation of law enforcement institutions;
-of theory of law and history of its development;
-of respect for human rights and regulation of the European institutions’ operation;
-of the analysis of the concepts of civil tort, administrative offence and crime;
-of substantive and procedure law in various branches of legal science;
-of the branch of information technology;
-of professional ethics and issues of communication.
SKILLS
-to orientate oneself freely in the Latvian and international legal systems;
-to accurately identify legal issues and the facts relevant to solving them;
-to select theoretical material and sources of case law in legal research;
-to use various research methods for detection and solution of issues in the branch;
-to use software and other information technologies.
COMPETENCE
-orientating oneself in political, social and cultural issues in the region, the state and the world;
-preparing, organising and carrying out actions in the branch of substantive and procedure law required to solve legal issues;
-conducting research and processing of empirical data in various sub-branches of law.
